A Beautiful Shabbat in Israel
We began with kabbalat shabbat. Even with each of us raised differently; conservative, reform, orthodox, secular, we all came together to share something very special. After four days of running around, we could finally rest. I feel so blessed to have met such an amazing group if people that I can already call my family!
A long night of rest left us all refreshed and ready to enjoy our downtime together. We started our morning with ridiculous skits where we got to create our own interpretations of this week's Torah portion. The enthusiasm and diversity of our group is something I feel only the blessed few get to experience!
Next a dream of mine became a reality...I led a yoga session in Israel! As a yoga instructor in Washington, DC, I could only imagine what it would feel like to lead a group of my peers in our homeland. It was even better than I could have imagined, all of us together sharing this amazing view, experience and energy. Life was good!
As we began to bring shabbat to a close, we shared songs, blessings, and lots of hugs. Words cannot express how lucky I feel to be a part of this once in a lifetime experience. I love my peers, I love my staff and most of all I love our Israelis!
