Day 2 Borders
The theme of today was crossing borders; we crossed many physical borders throughout the day while also crossing our own personal borders by going on a strenuous hike.
Our reward from the challenging hike was swimming in the beautiful Zavitan pool with a waterfall. It was so lovely!
We discussed throughout the day how Abraham left his own borders - his own comfort zone - to start a new nation and how we will leave our comfort zones many times on the trip.
We then learned about physical borders at a lookout over Syria, where an expert spoke to us about the geopolitical situation in the Middle East.
Then, we had fun rafting down the Jordan River...although it was more like floating than rafting. The highlight of the day was when we were surprised with a trip to the home of an Israeli participant who lives on a Kibbutz nearby. It was so special to learn about this aspect of Israeli life and get the inside scoop of what it's like to live on a Kibbutz up North. Thanks to Yael and her family!
We can't wait to go to Tel Aviv tomorrow!
