The Experience of My Shorashim Family
Today's events were both special and eye opening for everyone on Bus 525.
Each one of us formed a personal connection with the hike up Masada, floating in the Dead Sea, exploring the shuk in Jerusalem and learning more about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Yet, as it was one of the last days of the trip, I felt like these events should be represented by the entire community, instead of just by me.
Each one of us smiled as we reached the top of Masada.
We were all filled with excitement as we floated in the Dead Sea.
We laughed and chatted as we ate falafel and sweets in the Mahane Yehuda Market.
And although many of us have different perspectives on the conflict, we all felt overwhelming empathy for everyone affected by it.
Below you will find pictures from not only my experience of today, but the rest of my new Shorashim family as well. Hopefully this paints a picture of our collective experience in a way my words cannot.
