The Final Shabbat
We all enjoyed being able to sleep in, the first day that we did not have an activity until noon! At that time, everyone gathered in a meeting room at the Kibbutz for a Bar and Bat Mitzvah ceremony.
There were 13 members of our group that received their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs here in Israel and two changed their Hebrew names.
It was very emotional for all as we listened to them read in Hebrew a prayer and then read their Torah portion out loud to the group in English. We learned why each person decided to do this and what Hebrew name they chose and why.
After the ceremony, we were given free time to hang by the pool or use some wifi by the reception house.
We met again to perform the closing ceremony for Shabbat (Havdallah) along with some songs to welcome the new week. We then headed out into Jerusalem for dinner and shopping.
Many of us enjoyed walking the streets and exploring for our last night and picked up last minute gifts and souvenirs. It was a beautiful evening, a great last night in Israel!
