Up North
Today, we got to explore and discuss the beauty and complicated political climate of the Golan in the north of Israel. We left the kibbutz in search of natural beauty which we found during our morning hike, Zavitan. We jumped over streams, scaled mountains and became breathless at a water overlook. We then drove and discovered more Israeli food during an independant lunch.
After, we came inside to explore Olea Essence, an olive press where they produce olive oil and skin care products using the natural vitamins the olives have to offer. Our final drive was to Mount Bental where we looked over the borders of Syria, Lebanon and Egypt while discussing the difficult decisions Israel faces in the Golan. We finally came back to the kibbutz where we finished with dinner and a group activity about Jewish identity.
