From The Old To The New & Back Again
On Tuesday morning, we woke up at sea net tel aviv hotel and had a wonderful buffet breakfast. From there, we got on the bus and headed to the independence hall museum in tel aviv and learned how Israel gained their independence. We were able to watch an informational introduction video and saw the room where David Ben Gurion signed the declaration and declared independence in 1948. We finished our visit to the museum with the speaker leading us in singing Israel's national anthem, Hatitva.
From the Independence museum, we headed to the Banana Beach in tel aviv where we spent the afternoon paddle boarding, swimming and playing games in the Mediterranean Sea with our friends. It was a lot of fun!
After, we hopped on the bus once again to have lunch at the sorona market in Tel Aviv. The modern market had many options from waffles to sushi to burgers. After we finished, we drove to Jerusalem to tour the old city and see wonders such as the western wall and the Jewish quarter. On the bus ride, many of us wrote letters to put into the wall, as well as the ones our family members gave us. We were lucky enough to witness many IDF soldiers gather by the western wall to prepare to be sworn into the IDF.
After a very long day full of festivities, we headed to the Jerusalem Gold hotel. We had a delicious buffet dinner and were fortunate enough to head a presentation from Menachem Merabi about the geopolitical conflict in the Middle East.
After a long day in the modern city of Tel Aviv and the Old City of Jerusalem, we are excited to get some rest and wake up and have another great day with shorashim Bus 181.
