Tel Aviv!
After a long bus ride, we arrived to Tel Aviv and went directly to Rabin Square. Bar explained to us the significance of the site and how Rabin's assasination affected the population in Israel; then we split up into groups to interview Israelis on the street about their opinions of this event.
We heard a lot of different points of view and one group even met a Holocaust survivor who shared his perspective. It was an amazing experience to hear directly from Israelis in the site that this historic event occured.
After lunch around the square, we headed to Rothschild Boulevard and then to Independence Hall to learn about the establishment of the State of Israel. It was fascinating.
We then relaxed by the Mediteranean sea: swam, played volleyball, learned about Israeli paddle ball (called Matkot), and ate popsicles.
We concluded the night with a discussion to prepare us for Yad Vashem (the Holocaust museum in Jerusalem) and then headed for our night out in Tel Aviv!
We found different restaurants and pubs on Bograshov and even though we were in the city that never sleeps, we came back at 11:30 to wake up early for another full day in Jerusalem and the Bedouin Tent.
