Yad Vashem, Salad Trail, and A Night at the Bedouin Tents
After a hearty sleep at our lovely hotel in Jerusalem, we awoke to a quick breakfast and got right in the bus for a busy day.
Our first destination was Yad V'Shem, the Holocaust museum in Israel. The museum offered one of our most emotional memories on birthright. We experienced stories that must not be forgotten. We also walked through the children's memorial. For many this was a psychologically troubling place that will forever be etched in our minds. We then stopped at a local mall for a lunch and some delicious pasteries for a lucky few!
Moving south, Bus 48 headed to a moshav where we learned some agricultural practices and played a fun veggie guessing game. We than got to pick some fresh, juciy red peppers!
Before getting back on the bus we heard about our friends' experiences in the army and about the Gaza region as we looked upon the area from afar.
To conclude the day we retired to the Bedouin tents in the Negev desert. Here we learned about the Bedouin culture and later enjoyed a plethora of fresh supper dishes!
Today has been an exhausting day; however, the stories of the day have been powerful and rewarding. B'shalom!
