Burn, Baby, Burn
The day started quite early for a few. A number of us woke up in the Bedouin tents around 5:45 am to watch the sun rise over the mountains of the desert. Running on little sleep, but a lot of adrenaline, we set off to the Dead Sea. We first stopped at the Ahava factory for some products and gifts from the Dead Sea - you're welcome, Mom and Dad. After sampling many a product, we started toward Kalia, one of the private resorts. We frolicked in the salty water, lathering ourselves from head to toe with mud. Feeling exfoliated and smooth as a baby's bottom, we washed the salt and mud off and then proceeded toward the final destination of Jerusalem.
Upon arriving in Jerusalem, we first stopped at one of the markets to grab a bite to eat and pick up more souvenirs for our loved ones - again, you're welcome, Mom and Dad. The market was full of shops with tchotchkes and types of food such as fruit, meat, candy, danishes, sandwiches and even some sushi. After the market, we went to a breathtaking viewpoint called Haas Promenade to admire the city and have a discussion. As we admired the Holy Land, we shared what Jerusalem and Tradition meant to us.
We then returned to the bus and traveled to the Caesar Hotel. Much to our pleasure, we discovered a rooftop pool and free wifi (a Bus 913 favorite). We are looking forward to spending some time in Jerusalem!
