Hiking the Ancient Mountain
We started our day with a hike up and down an rocky, cave-pocked mountain near the Sea of Galilee. The trek was exhilarating. There were craggy inclines that required careful steps and tight grips on the metal handholds driven into the rocks, all against a sweeping backdrop of a calm sea. We climbed steep steps that led us to ancient dwellings. We stumbled across a cave in the mountainside filled with cows seeking shelter from the hot sun. It wasn't hard to imagine then how similar this place must have looked thousands of years ago.
