Goodbye Golan Heights, Hello Jerusalem
Dear Shorashim parents,
Yesterday was our first and last day in the Golan. In the midst of a crazy heat wave, we were lucky enough to spend most of the day in the H2O. My personal favorite part of the day was kayaking down the Jordan River with a very dysfunctional group of us who couldn't seem to get the hang of paddling. At one point we rowed ourselves into a thorn bush, that felt really nice.
After that we went back to the kibbutz and learned about the 4 holy cities in Israel: Tzfat, Jerusalem, Tiberias, and Hebron. Then, we made up raps about them. Tzfat is the hottest spot, YO. Speaking of which, we're currently en route to that mystical city. I cant wait to see all the art and beauty (but mostly I'm excited to buy the jewelry). Sorry mom and dad!
Don't worry though, the 250 dollar deposit that you'll be getting back will be used to pay for the multiple iced coffees I've been drinking each day. Except the "iced coffee" here is basically coffee ice cream disguised as caffeine. We haven't gained the freshman 15 yet, but after all the falafel and magnum bars, I'm sure we'll be well on our way.
We'll keep all of you updated on our journey. Wishing everyone an early shabbat shalom!!!!!
