Hump Day, Masada, Dead Sea, and More!
After a fun night in the Bedouin tents we woke up early to hike up Masada. The short trek in the wind was worth the gorgeous view and seeing the historic fortress.
BH that the rain stopped, so that we could have an enjoyable camel ride. #Humpday. Honestly thought I was going to fall off, but I am writing this now, so clearly I survived.
Next, we traveled to the Dead Sea. As someone who has never been to Israel I was determined to float in the Dead Sea, rain or shine, in 80 degrees or 40 degrees. So in like 50 degree weather and some rain for a short time, I experience the salty water. I now can't wait to go back there one day and have the opportunity to relax.
After a nap on the bus (duh), we arrived at Ben Gurion's (and his wife's) grave near Seder Boker. For me, Seder Boker has significance as for multiple summers my family hosted an Israeli from that kibbutz.
The year is coming to an end, celebrating in a kibbutz in the Negev after a riveting and intense discussion about the Arab-Israeli relation. Happy and healthy new year to all. And for us on Bus 48, we can truly say that we will spend next year (2016) in Jerusalem.
