Yad Vashem and Machane Yehuda
Last night we were told, "Just so you guys know, There’s not a certain way you should feel when visiting Yad Vashem.”
For those of you that don’t know, Yad Vashem is a Holocaust museum located in Jerusalem. Not only is it the most recently built, Yad Vashem has the most vast array of artifacts, photo’s, letters, and stories one can possibly fathom in a holocaust museum. It’s chilling, and if you plan on at least one museum in Israel, Jew or not, go to Yad Vashem.
From there we went to the Shuk in Jerusalem. Roughly twice as big as the Shuk in Tel Aviv, the possibilities of haggling are endless, and the amount of gifts, trinkets, fruits, vegetables, spices, meats, restaurants, food stands, and just plain dreck, is endless. If you’re looking for the most luscous of produce, dreck, or any Middle Eastern dish go there, because, “IT’S ZE BEST.”
The people watching is top-notch, too!
