We spent our morning hiking in the Golan Heights, swimming in a freshwater spring, and taking in the beautiful views of the vast desert.
This trip has thus far given me a sense of connection to Israel and Judaism that would not be possible without the outstanding staff and participants. I’m eager to take on tomorrow’s adventures.
I'm learning so much about Israeli culture from the Israelis on our trip.
The day ended with a havdalah service, beautiful of course, which ended Shabbat and welcomed in the beginning of the next week. I'm sure I could say every part of the day was my favorite part of the day, but nothing beats havdalah (except for hummus - which will reiterate for emphasis later)
It was a build-your-own Bedouin meal, the Chipotle of the Negev and hummus does not cost extra. For most, this meal was a crowd pleaser. Hannah Honey stated, "Hummus will never be the same" and Jordan Jalapeño added, "Nothin' better than eating with your hands."
"I serve up controversial food blogs hotter than the Negev. Welcome to the #Bus218 food blog, first edition."
