The group was happy and bonding, and being such helped us realize that although we are guests in this beautiful land, we are already home.

We all left in silence, reflecting upon what we had just heard and seen. It was such an individual and unique experience for all.
We really came together as a family for our last Shabbat together. It was really amazing how the group became so close and cohesive after only spending ten days together. Feeling like we were a Birthright family made the experience that much more special.
We began our day Sunday at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, one of the most prominent Holocaust museums in the world.
There, our guide led us on the tour that looked at the Holocaust through the victims' perspectives. It was incredibly powerful.
Afterwards, we made our way over to Tel Aviv, which felt totally different than Jerusalem.
First, we went to Independence Hall, where we learned about Israel's founding.
Next, we explored Yitzhak Rabin Square, asking locals what they remember about the former Prime Minister's assassination and his impact on their lives.
Saturday was a very chill day, which was very much appreciated by most of the group after all of the busy and exciting days we have had so far! We got to sleep in and had an optional breakfast at 9:30am, which was the perfect way to start Shabbat. Our first group activity was at 11 am; Michal (our Israeli trip leader) started the activity by asking us to go around and share our least favorite chore to do. At first we were confused, but played along with her directions. Thank you for a fun morning Michal!
Today, we went to the house of one of our Israeli Participants, Tess. Her family was very hospitable, and we got to eat snacks and swim in her pool! It was really a very cool experience.
As young 20 somethings, going out with locals and seeing the night life helped us to envision everyday life for young adults in Israel.
Shortly after learning about the history, we hiked down deep, dark stairs to a cave. We all circled up as a group and sang Hallelujah. It was a special moment that we will never forget.
Next, we saw a great music group and got to sing, dance, and make beats together. Everyone was laughing and jumping around while making beats and whatnot. It was so fun.
The sky by night in this desert is as indescribable as the land by day. I saw more stars than I've ever seen in my life, and a meteor as well.
